Richard O. Bauer of Chalfont, PA passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA. He was 78.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Carl and Vivian (Brown) Bauer, Richard was a former resident of Buckingham, Wrightstown and Solebury, PA.

Richard was formerly employed with Betz Laboratories of Middletown, NJ and later became the owner and operator of Aquatec Chemical International and Thermionics, Inc. of Doylestown, PA. He was a US Marine Veteran having served during the Vietnam War.

He was the beloved husband of the late Lois E. Bauer, devoted father of Richard W. Bauer of Solebury, Cynthia E. Merkel and husband Randall of Doylestown, dear brother of James Bauer and wife Lea, loving grandfather of Tiffany, Brittany and Ryan Merkel, cherished great-grandfather of Michael Waskiewicz, also survived by nephew, James Bauer, Jr. and the Gannon family.

A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Thursday, September 7th at 11:15 am. The family will receive their friends from 10:15-11:15 am prior to the service at the church.

Entombment with military honors will follow at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940 at 1 pm, followed by a luncheon for all friends & relatives at the Washington Crossing Inn.

Cremation services were private.
