Richard L. Spelts of Doylestown, PA passed away at his residence on Saturday, July 15, 2017. He was 69.

Born in San Jose, CA to the late James W. and Sybil (Walker) Spelts, Rich was a lifelong area resident of Doylestown.

He was formerly employed with the Horsham Water & Sewer Authority and recently retired in 2015. Rich was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and received three Purple Hearts during his service. He was a member of the Doylestown Maennerchor and enjoyed fishing.

He was the beloved husband of the late Joanne Spelts; devoted father of Melanie Gardy; dear brother of Alice (Bill) Deaton, Carrie (Scott) Dowens and Judy (Jim) Asbury; loving grandfather of Aleeya and Gracyn Jones; also survived by nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Private cremation services were under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home/Central Bucks Crematory, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
