Obituary for Gene Grayson

Gene Grayson of Doylestown, PA passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA. He was 92.

Born in Bronx, NY to the late Abe and Edna Goldberg, Gene was a resident of Tenafly, NJ before moving to the Pine Run Community of Doylestown three years ago.

He was a World War II Army Veteran and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Gene received the American Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal for his service.

Gene received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cornell University and was formerly employed as an Executive Vice President and Creative Director in the advertising industry for over 40 years. He was a former employee with Ogilvy & Mather, Inc. of New York City.

Gene enjoyed playing poker at the Doylestown Seniors Center twice a week, collected early American antiques, liked refinishing furniture, and hunting for rare books. He was a life-long Yankees fan, was fond of good scotch, hated pretense, and had a killer wit.

He was the husband of the late Florence Grayson; beloved soul mate of Ann Corkadel; wise, kind, and fun father of Laura Loewen and husband Roman; dear uncle of Joan Edwards; and also survived by many dear friends.

A committal service with military honors will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA on Monday, June 5th at 10:30 am.

Cremation services were private under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home/Central Bucks Crematory, Doylestown, PA.
