Obituary for Emily S. Mahler

Emily S. Mahler of Upper Makefield Township, PA passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 in Neshaminy Manor, Warrington, PA. She was 94.

Born in Bayonne, NJ to the late George and Theresa (Roth) Wall, Emily resided in Upper Makefield since 1963 and was a former resident of Paulsboro, NJ.

Emily was a member of the Central Bucks Senior Activity Center and a former member of Chalfont United Methodist Church. She was very proud of her work during WWII as a quality analyst at a Paulsboro oil refinery. Following the war she returned to her prior employment as a clerk at Acme Market, where she met her future husband, Henry. She was later employed as a rural carrier with the United States Postal Service in Newtown, PA for over 20 years prior to her retirement, and then worked behind the scenes at the Larder for many years. Throughout her life, Emily enjoyed reading, bingo, and a good cup of tea.

She was the beloved wife of the late Henry Louis Mahler; devoted mother of Emily Jefferson (Don), Judith Winsko (Stan), Marcia Reinheimer (Joe), Elaine Fernandes (Lance), and Janice Matey (David); dear sister of the late Willard Wall and Theresa Raymer; loving grandmother of Amber, Shannon, Cara, Drew, Sean, Lane, Selina, and the late Randy; cherished great-grandmother of Sylus, Harper, Madelyn and Lan.

A viewing will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Monday, May 8th from 10:00-11:00 am, with a service to begin at 11:00 am.

Private interment will follow in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.
