Obituary for Estelle Rogol

Estelle Rogol of Doylestown, PA passed away at her residence on Friday, March 3, 2017. She was 95.

Born in New York, NY to the late Aaron and Dora (Segal) Moskowitz, Estelle resided in Boynton Beach, FL before moving to Doylestown in 2009.

During World War II she worked in various government positions in Washington DC and Jacksonville, Florida. She was later employed by the Oradell, NJ School District, and in 1963 founded the Bergen County Chapter of Cancer Care, where she served as President until 1969. In 1969 she was appointed to the position of Administrative Assistant of the newly formed Ramapo College of NJ, and later was named as Director of Communications. She retired from Ramapo in 1985, and in 1986 co-founded the Institute for New Dimensions, an educational program for adults 55 and older, and served on the board until 1996. That year she moved to Boynton Beach, Florida, where she remained active in civic and cultural activities.

She loved Opera and Theater, and New York City.

She was the beloved wife of the late David Rogol; devoted mother of Michael Rogol and wife Paula, and Andy Rogol; dear sister of the late Ruth Simon and Frances Freider; loving grandmother of Ethan, Brett, Amy and Gabriel; cherished great-grandmother of Atalanta, Artemis, Tilda, Austin and Sophia.

A service will be held at Cedar Park Cemetery, Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ 07652 on Wednesday, March 8th at 1:15 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donors’ choice.
