I met Helen for the very first time over forty years ago. Over the years of knowing her, I could see the great love she had for the life all around her. First and foremost, she loved her family with all her being. From my perspective her children and grandchildren were her life. Then there were all the 'critters' that she loved so much. She always had her dogs and cats, but she also had chickens and ducks and probably a few species that I don't recall by now. She loved and cared for them all.
I also remember that she was an excellent cook and baker. When I would visit on weekends she always made certain that I had a care package of food and baked goods to take back to college with me. I must admit that in some cases these goodies didn't last the whole way back over the three hour drive. They were just too good to resist.
She was an amazing woman.
I will always have these and many other Fond Memories that will live in my heart forever.
