The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Stover can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Richie Barrett
Condolence: Dear Stover Family,
The Barrett family is sorry for your loss. John was my baseball coach for the little league tournament team when I was 11 and 12 years old. We won the district 22 championship in 1991. Up until that point it was the greatest thrill in my life. John was knowledgeable and a strong, demanding leader and coach. His son's were excellent baseball players as well. When I think of baseball, which is often, I think of John. Our thoughts are with the Stover family and friends.

Condolence From: Bob Miley
Condolence: Smokey was a teammate of mine on Warrington's American Legion team in the mid 60s and we bonded immediately. He was a highly respected and extremely popular member of those teams. Smoke was a gentleman, competitor, patriot, and an American. His contributions to our community will be greatly missed. May the Lord embrace him and say, "Job well done."

Condolence From: JOHN DEMPSTER
Condolence: Smokey smoked one

Hi, my name is John Dempster and Smokey's parents were two of my brother Howard and my parents best friends. The best memory I have of Smokey was at our family farm in Jamison. My dad was pitching baseball to all of us in the farm fields and Smokey hit a drive that as a kid was the longest baseball bomb that I have ever seen! It was a great childhood memory, one that I will never forget! God bless and RIP Smokey.

Condolence: I remember Smokey well from church and through the close relationship of his parents and mine. Visited the farm on Mearns Road often over the years.
Thank you Smokey for your service and Rest In Peace.
