Obituary for Catherine V. Hill

Catherine Hill died peacefully in her sleep while a resident of the Majestic Oaks Nursing Home in Warminster, PA on Thursday, January 12, 2017. She was 92.

She was born and raised in New York City by her parents Michael and Catherine Wish. She studied art at Barnard College and as a child danced ballet. Married at 19 to Robert Erwin Hill she lived in Germany after World War II where she studied briefly at Heidelberg University.

Settling in upstate New York she worked in Retail and later, after moving to New Jersey, in Banking at Flemington National, National Westminster and the Philadelphia Telco Credit Union. She retired in 1992 and lived in Newtown and Levittown until she became a resident at Majestic Oaks in 2012. As her health faded and she spent more time in a wheelchair, she would tell everyone who would listen how she used to dance.

She is survived by her two sons Jeffrey and Robert, daughters-in-law Ellen and Jacqueline and her grandsons Jacob and Robert. She was much loved.

A memorial service will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Monday, January 16th at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to service.

Cremation services were private.
