Obituary for Thomas E. Diller

Thomas E. Diller
Thomas E. Diller, of Buckingham, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was 84.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on June 23, 1932 to the late John H. and Sarah Clutcher Diller, Tom attended Northeast High in Philadelphia, and then proudly served his country from 1953 to 1955 as a Corporal in the U.S. Army.

Tom was a longtime resident of Langhorne, PA, where he and Doris raised their family; retiring to Buckingham Springs in 1996. Prior to retirement, Tom was employed with Bell Telephone for 35 years.

In life, Tom’s greatest joy was helping his family and others. He was always the ‘go-to’ guy for his family. When in need, his opinion and advice were always the gold standard. He was loved, honored and respected beyond words. He will be fondly remembered by all for his dry wit and deep love for his family.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, the love of his life, Doris E. Diller, and by his children, Diane E. Vachon of Round Rock, TX, Debra A. Hug (Michael) of Fairless Hills, PA and Mark T. Diller (Julia) of Ivyland, PA. Tom is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Andrew Vachon (Mandy), Brad Vachon, Bryan Salvadore (Christina), Christine Salvadore and Matthew Diller, as well as nieces Nancy Young (Jeff), Wendy Wark (Bruce) and Richard C. Diller (Cheri).

He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard E. Diller.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service honoring the life of Tom Diller on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. The family will receive their friends from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service.

A private interment with military honors will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the Doylestown United Methodist Church Building Fund, 320 Swamp Road, Doylestown, PA 18901 or a charity of your choice.
