Marian Scicchitano Ehrlacher
Marian Scicchitano Ehrlacher passed away peacefully on November 11, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was 81.

She was the beloved wife and best friend of Gordian V. Ehrlacher for 54 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving daughters, Maribeth T. Ehrlacher (Gregory C. McCarthy) and Kathy A. Ehrlacher. She was the adoring and cherished “Gran” to her two grandsons, JR and Anthony (Mac) Denning, who will miss her dearly.

Born Mariana Caterina Scicchitano on May 7, 1935 in Mount Carmel Pennsylvania, she was the youngest daughter of Carmen and Catherine (Scicchitano) Scicchitano. She attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School and Susquehanna College. After moving to Doylestown in 1971, she became an active volunteer at the Doylestown Hospital where she founded and chaired the Welfare Committee. She was on the Board of Directors of the Village Improvement Association. From 1982 to 2012 she was an anger management therapist at the Bucks County Correctional Facility. She also taught several classes at the Central Bucks Community School. First and foremost she was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be remembered for her hospitality and wonderful cooking. Marian always greeted family and friends at her home with the question “Are you hungry?”

Also surviving is a sister, Sr. Mary Helen Scicchitano, D.M., two sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, 32 nieces and nephews, their families and many extended relatives. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dr. David Scicchitano and Carmen Scicchitano and a sister, Antoinette S. Gearhart.

Services will be private under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home/Central Bucks Crematory, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.

In lieu of flowers and food, the family wishes for donations to be made in Marian’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 (www.alz.org/donate) or a charity of the donor’s choice.
