Condolence: Coach Charles Gallagher was an excellent mentor, coach, and friend and I am honored to have known him as the Notre Dame High School golf coach and as a supervisor at Mercer Oaks Golf Course. Coach Gallagher inspired our golf team to demonstrate sportsmanship, professionalism, and team spirit while improving our skills and playing our best. He led our team to several championships and assured that everyone on the team had the opportunity to contribute to the team’s success. He also supported individual players to excel in their own golf careers. Many members of his golf team have been recruited as collegiate scholar-athletes, or have pursued professional golf management degrees. He was always proud to hear of the continued success of all of his players. He encouraged me to follow my interest in golf and enter national, state and local tournaments while enjoying every aspect of the sport. To the family of Coach Gallagher, I will keep you in my thoughts during this very difficult time. I think of Coach Gallagher each time I play, and I will never forget all he did for me. He was the epitome of a wonderful coach and golfer.
