Obituary for Zofia Dlugon

Zofia Dlugon of Chester Springs, PA passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 in the Brandywine Hall Center, West Chester, PA. She was 88.

Born in Radawa, Poland, Zofia immigrated to the United States in 1962. She settled in Allentown, PA before moving to Bethlehem, PA for over 30 years.

Zofia worked at the Sacred Heart Hospital Kitchen, the former A &B Company, Just Born and Lehigh University. She was a member of the Polish Club in Allentown; Union of Polish Women in America and member of Sts. Peter and Paul R.C. Church of Allentown (sang in the choir along with several years singing in the choir at Our Lady of Czestochowa). She was very involved with the Polish community in the Lehigh Valley.

Her last years were spent enjoying watching her grandson play baseball and football while traveling many miles to cheer him and his teammates on – she will always be Babcia to so many who loved her.

Daughter of the late Jan and Ewa Adamiec; sister of the late Anna Klaus and Jozefa Mudryk; wife of the late Franciszek Dlugon; she is survived by her daughters: Helina Dlugon, Janina Janick and husband Joseph; grandson Joseph; and many nieces and nephews in Poland.

Visitation will be held at the Varcoe–Thomas Funeral Home of Doylestown, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Friday, September 9th from 8:30-9:30 am.

A funeral mass will follow at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in the Cemetery Chapel, 654 Ferry Road, Doylestown, PA 18901 at 10 am. Burial will follow in the Shrine Cemetery.
