Obituary for Catherine M. Cassigneul

Catherine "Cathy" Cassigneul of Doylestown, PA passed away on June 13, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family. She was 63.

Born February 28, 1953 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, Cathy and her family immigrated to the United States in 1989, after having lived in France, Germany, and Belgium. They lived in 7 different states throughout the past 27 years in the US, with many trips back to their homeland, France, to visit family and friends. Through every move, Cathy was able to turn each house into a home and was a stellar tour guide for all who came to visit. She had a gift of making everyone feel welcome, and always put others ahead of herself, especially her daughters and grandchildren. She was a model of grace, elegance, and poise. A meticulous woman, Cathy sought perfection in all her endeavors; from knitting, sewing, painting, cooking, baking, decorating, to cleaning….she transformed homemaking into an art form. She was a quiet and strong Catholic. Although a petite woman, she was the fiercest of combatants, courageously fighting neuroendocrine carcinoid cancer for the last 6 years of her life without a word of complaint.

Survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Pierre Cassigneul; her daughter Caroline Lubeski and her husband, Brian; her daughter Camille McCaffrey and her husband, Patrick; grandchildren Alexandre, Isabelle, and Quentin; and siblings Philippe Baudot, Christophe Baudot, Valérie Benhaïm; as well as many nieces, nephews, and siblings-in-law. Catherine was preceded in death by her mother, Emilienne Baudot (née Crochet) and father, René Baudot.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 N. Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.

Relatives and friends are also invited to join her funeral mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 the following day, Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM.

Cremains burial and ceremony to be held in France.
