DOYLESTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA - Charles J. Rose of Doylestown, PA passed away at his residence on Thursday, February 9, 2012. He was 87 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Rose resided in Philadelphia, PA before moving to Doylestown, PA 12 years ago.
Charles was formerly employed as a Superintendent with Lupton Manufacturing of Philadelphia for 31 years prior to retirement. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a World War II Army veteran having served as a paratrooper in the 542nd Infantry Battalion. Charles enjoyed playing cards and spending time at the beach.
Son of the late Katherine Rose, he was beloved husband of 61 years to Bernice Rose (nee Jaskiewicz), devoted father of Christine Saltzman and husband Lawrence, Charles J. Rose, Jr. and wife Patricia, Nancy Reichelt and husband John, dear brother of the late Joseph and William Lorenz, and Catherine Rose McGowan, loving grandfather of Joshua Saltzman and wife Mary, Benjamin Saltzman, Joanna, Alyssa, and Jeffrey Rose, Timothy Reichelt and wife Jamie, Matthew and Carly Reichelt.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Friday, February 17th at 11:30 am. The family will receive their friends from 10:30-11:30 am prior to the mass at the church.
Interment of cremated remains will follow at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940 at 1 pm.
Cremation services were private.
