Obituary for Gary Allen Orfe

NAPLES, FLORIDA - Gary Allen Orfe, of Naples, FL passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014. He was 62.

Born in Willow Grove, PA where he lived with his parents James L. and Mildred Orfe and brother James. Gary attended Upper Moreland High School and when he was 15 years old the family moved to Bedminster, PA where he graduated and received his diploma from Pennridge High School. Gary also attended Bucks County Community College and Delaware Valley College where he majored in business. He was a resident of Pennsylvania for 57 years after which he moved down to Naples Florida in 2009.

Gary was a publisher of 17 very successful trade magazines and also very involved in the business of trade shows in conjunction with his magazines. He was an avid Eagles fan and loved baseball and basketball. Gary loved the game of golf and had the amazing opportunity to play on noted golf courses throughout the country. He had a love of sailing the Chesapeake Bay area and enjoyed fishing on his boat. Gary also enjoyed skiing and being outdoors. He will be missed for his great personality, his love of life and wonderful smile. Gary had many friends and everyone who knew him loved him very much.

Predeceased by his father, James L. Orfe and brother, James R. Orfe, Jr., Gary is the loving son of Mildred Orfe, dear nephew of Dorothy Rathgeb, cousin of Linda Prout, Patricia Herring, and Nancy DiNatale, former husband of Jean Orfe, and step-father of Gerald J. and Frank J. Resnick.

A service will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Friday, March 28th at 11 am. The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Keller's Church Cemetery, Bedminster Twp., PA.
