DOYLESTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA - Elfrieda "Frieda" Young of Doylestown, PA passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 11, 2014. She was 84.

Born in Harheim, Germany she immigrated to the United States in 1961 and settled in Pennsylvania. Frieda and her family resided in the Doylestown area since 1978.

Frieda was formerly employed as a supervisor with Greenleaf Nursing & Convalescent Center of Doylestown and was in charge of housekeeping, floor maintenance and laundry for the facility, retiring after 30 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

She is the devoted mother of Duane Young and his late wife Carol, Patricia Young (James Bernsteel), Cynthia Kay Strecker (Scott), Randy Young and his partner Linndy, and Frank DiGiorgio (Kandy), loving grandmother of Tammi Mancuso, Nichole DiGiorgio, Lacey Mancuso, Mellissa Young, Jack Murphy, Kirsten and Heidi DiGiorgio, and Maximilian Strecker, cherished great grandmother of Barron, Brayden, Zayna, Jolie, Gaia, and Jake, former wife of Archie Young.

A visitation will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Wednesday, October 15th from 10 am to 12 Noon with a service to follow at the funeral home.

Private cremation will follow.
