DOYLESTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA - Ira Melville Powell of Doylestown, PA passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 in Neshaminy Manor, Warrington, PA. He was 89.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Leonard and Louida McNeilly Powell, he resided in Doylestown since 1969.

Ira was formerly employed with the Bucks County Department of Corrections and was a World War II US Army veteran.

He was the beloved husband of Avis L. Powell, dear brother of Richard Powell and late wife Harriet, Joan Powell Taubel and late husband Alan, and the late David Powell who is survived by his wife Patricia, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 South Gulph Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Friday, February 6th at 1 pm. There will be no calling hours.
