Obituary for Anthony W. Talocci

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA - Anthony W. Talocci of Doylestown Township, PA passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. He was 83.

Born in Nesquehoning, PA, on August 6, 1931 to the late Antonio and Olivia Talocci, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Eleanor, his sisters Catherine (Walter) Sodroski, Antoinette (James) Caserta, Lucy (John) Maruscak and survived by his brother Joseph (Angela) Talocci. He is survived by his daughter Angela and son Carl (Karen) Talocci, a granddaughter Pamela (Brian) Devenny and grandson John Cashmore, III.

He has an abundance of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews throughout the country.

Anthony joined the Air Force right out of high school and served in the Korean War from 1949 to 1953 with his missions mostly over the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific.

After the war, he attended east Stroudsburg University and received a Bachelor s Degree in Biology and a Master s Degree from Lehigh University in High School Administration. Anthony spent his next few decades of teaching and counseling at Asbury Park H.S., Frankford H.S., Central Bucks West H.S., Olney H.S. and the Swenson Skills Center in Philadelphia. He was instrumental in creating programs mainstreaming mentally handicapped students to Vocational programs and preparing them for the working world.

Anthony was also a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church of Doylestown for over 50 years.

A viewing will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 215 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 9:30-10:30 am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:30 am.

Private cremation will follow.

Anthony will be interred privately with military honors next to his wife Eleanor in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Nesquehoning, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Anthony' s memory to the OLMC Church Capital Campaign.
