DOYLESTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA - James Bradford Wiley, of Doylestown, PA entered into rest on April 1, 2015.
Brad graduated from Central Bucks High School in 1952 and Penn State University. He honorably served in the United States Army stationed in Germany. He worked for Asplundh & Ametek prior to a long career as a machinist and then manager at Fischer & Porter in Warminster. He was the owner/operator of Wiley Enterprises. Brad also was an Emergency Medical Technician and gave many hours of his personal time as a volunteer and long time Chief of the Plumsteadville Ambulance Corps. He was a lifelong member of the Doylestown United Methodist Church.
Brad was an artist, both musically gifted and a skilled artisan in metal & member of the Bucks County Art League. He was also a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, and Plumstead Historical Society. Many are blessed to have his hand crafted jewelry and wrought iron pieces, as well as turkey calls crafted from turkey wing bones. Brad was a true patriot and extremely generous man. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to ride his many motorcycles. He loved sweets & Southern Comfort. His family enjoys his mountain cabin in Tioga County which he constructed by hand entirely from recycled building materials. He may be best known for his verbal prowess and mastery with the spoken word. While brevity was not his forte, his stories, lessons, and words of wisdom endeared him to all.
He was the son of the late George D. and Lillian G. (Smith) Wiley of Doylestown, PA. He was the husband of the late Mary Lou Wiley and Margaret Cripps Malloy. He is survived by his brother G. Keith Wiley and his wife Barbara of Chalfont, son Donald and wife Paula of Telford, PA, daughters Pamela Pryor and husband Bryon of Slatington, PA, and Lisa Godshall of Doylestown, PA, and son George and wife Maureen of Dublin, PA. Step-children Shaun Malloy and wife Brenda of Perkasie, Brian Malloy and wife Julie of Indianapolis, IN, and Kelly Wenzel and husband Joseph of West Orange, NJ, and a daughter-in-law Mona Malloy of Pipersville. He was predeceased by a step-son, Kevin Malloy of Pipersville, PA. Grandchildren Joseph Welzig, Ian, Andrew, and Sean Wiley, Stephanie and Samantha Pryor, Nikolas Godshall (Nina), Danielle Meitzler (Steve), Joey Merkel, Amber Malloy, Clayton and Georgia Malloy, Grace and Emma Wenzel, and three great-grandchildren. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive their friends at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Tuesday, April 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
Private interment will be held in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Horsham, PA.
A memorial service will be held at the Doylestown United Methodist Church, 320 East Swamp Road, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Wednesday, April 8th at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Brad s memory to the Doylestown United Methodist Church Pastor s Discretionary Fund.
