Obituary for H. Melvin Long
Born in Abington, PA to the late Howard and Alva Mason Long, Melvin resided in Doylestown Township before moving to Furlong, PA in 1985.
He was formerly employed as a swimming pool construction superintendent with Arrow Master Pools of Holicong, PA for 48 years before his illness two years ago. Melvin enjoyed riding snow mobiles in upstate New York and Canada, riding ATV s and hunting with his family.
He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Nancy (Samsel) Long, devoted father of Wanda G. Wolfe and husband David, Christopher Long and wife Ivy, Henry Melvin Long, Jr. and wife Lori, dear brother of the late Ruth Crinage and Naoma Good, loving grandpop and pop pop of Brianna and Travis Wolfe, Austin, Sierra and Brooklyn Long.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, July 17th from 7-9 pm at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
Cremation services were private.
