Obituary for Hans G. Paulsen Jr.

DOYLESTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA - Hans G. Paulsen, Jr. of Doylestown, PA passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. He was 78.

He was the beloved husband and best friend of Bonnie (Morris) Paulsen, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

Born May 9th, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Hans G. and Edith Bush Paulsen, Hans resided in Richboro and Quakertown, prior to moving to Doylestown in 1993.

Hans worked in all aspects of the food industry. He was most recently employed as a National Sales Manager with Major Products of Little Ferry, NJ for the last 22 years, before retiring in 2014. Hans was also the former owner of the Bee Luncheonette, Richboro PA from 1965-1967, the Paulsen s Charcoal Pit, Washington Crossing PA from 1964-1978, and The Richlandtown Hotel, Richlandtown PA from 1982-1993.

In his younger years, Hans was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing, and trapshooting with many of his family & lifelong cherished friends. For many years Hans and Bonnie owned a home and boat in Waretown, NJ where they spent quality family time with their daughters and friends. In more recent years, Hans and Bonnie spent much of their spare time on their boat in Holiday Harbor Marina, Waretown, NJ. They cultivated a treasured group of friends at Holiday Harbor with whom they enjoyed spending time with over the last 30 years. His grandsons, Brad, Brett and Bryce, have many wonderful memories with their Pop on his boat and down the shore.

Hans was also a US Army Veteran having served during peacetime.

In addition to his wife, Hans is survived by his daughters, whom he cherished deeply; Cheryl Konowalczyk, Christine Madison and husband Jeffrey, and the late Wendi Paulsen. He was the loving grandfather of Bradley, Brett and Bryce Konowalczyk, Kate Madison Stallings (Maurice) and Jeffrey Madison, and just recently became a great-grandfather to Kayden Stallings. He had a special relationship with his nephew, Michael Mullin (Dianne) and niece, Shawn Cameron (Michael). He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews, including his brother' s daughters Tracey, Kimberly, and Tammy.

He was preceded in death by his brother George R. Paulsen, Brother-in-law John T. Mullin, and Sister-in-law Joy L. Mullin.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join in celebrating his life on Tuesday, October 20th at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. A viewing will be held from 9:30-11:00 AM, followed by a service.

Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Richboro, PA.
