BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA - Charles E. Halko, Sr. of Buckingham Township, PA passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015 in Arden Courts of Warminster, PA. He was 81.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Coleman and Mildred Logan Halko, Charles resided in Buckingham, PA since 1977 and was a former resident of Hatboro, PA.
Charles was a graduate of North Catholic High School of Pittsburgh and also received a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a MS Degree in Engineering Sciences from Penn State University. He also attended the Naval War College, Newport, RI in 1976.
Charles was formerly employed as a Program Manager in the BASIC lab at the US Naval Air Development Center, Warminster, PA for 28 years, prior to retiring in 1989. He was a US Air Force Veteran; a former Grand Knight and Treasurer with the Knights of Columbus Council 5494 of Warrington; former President of the Hatboro-Horsham Youth Center Group (providing civil projects to assist youth with social issues); a former member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and also enjoyed golf, bowling and fantasy football.
Charles is the beloved husband of the late Helen K. Halko, devoted father of Sherri Meier and her late husband Jeff, Charles E. Halko, Jr. and wife Kerri, and William Halko, loving grandfather of Nicole Meier, Kylie and Thomas Halko, dear brother-in-law of Donald Kirkland and wife, Kathleen, also survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cherished friend of Bill and Kathy Zellers, and companion to his Pomeranian, Bruno.
Visitation will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Friday, November 20th from 2:00-4:00 pm with a service to begin at 4:00 pm.
Private cremation will follow.
