Obituary for Barbara Ann Greb

DANBORO & DOYLESTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA - Barbara Ann Greb left this world on December 9, 2015 to join her beloved husband, her recently deceased granddaughter, and her Lord. She was 80 years old.

Barbara was born to Anna (Cooper) and Lester Hendricks and was raised by her aunt and uncle, Hilda (Hendricks) and John Lear in Carversville, PA. She was one of seven children. She graduated from New Hope Solebury School in 1952 and got her RN at Abington Nursing School. It was in nursing school that her roommate and best friend, Louise, introduced Barbara to her brother, Norman Greb. Two years later, Barbara and Norman were married. They celebrated 56 happy years together before his passing last year. They lived in Danboro, PA and had five children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Barbara loved her family dearly!

Barbara, together with Norman, was a youth group leader at Danboro Reformed Church and a member of Gideons International. She also taught Sunday school and was a Girl Scout leader. In more recent years, she and her husband were members of Main Street Baptist Church in Doylestown and Point Pleasant Baptist in Pt. Pleasant, PA.

Barbara is survived by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Louise and Bill Foster of Danboro, PA, her sister-in-law, Joyce Greb of Wellsboro, PA, her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and John Heater of Hamilton, NJ, her sister-in-law, Shirley Hendricks of Ottsville, PA, and her brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Marianne Hendricks of Dunedin, FL. Her children include Cynthia Greb of Crestone, CO, Eric and Colette Greb of Pipersville, PA, Karen Snyder of Fort Bragg, NC, Janice and Gareth Bailey of Acworth, GA, and Brian Greb of Perkasie, PA. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren include: Sarah and Michael Foulke and their children, Jacob, Lily and Rosemary; Nora and Joel Nieto and their son Atticus; Carl Snyder; Asher and Victoria Greb; Margo Greb; and Trisha Bailey, now residing in heaven.

Barbara spent the last two years of her life at Briarleaf Nursing Home in Doylestown, PA and for the last month was provided additional care by Caring Hospice. The family is deeply grateful to the staff of both organizations for their wonderful care and also to Trina Lilly for her loving and impeccable care while Barbara and Norman lived at home.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 19th at 1:00 p.m. at the Point Pleasant Baptist Church, 35 River Road, Pt. Pleasant, PA 18950. There will be a private burial on Friday.

Arrangements by Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
