Obituary for Leslie M. Hayes

PIPERSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA - Leslie M. Hayes of Pipersville, PA passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at her residence. She was 65.

Born in San Antonio, TX, to Leslie R. Hadley and the late Muriel E. Hadley, Leslie was a resident of Doylestown, PA before moving to Pipersville, PA in 1976.

She received a Bachelor Degree in Education from Kutztown University and was formerly employed as an elementary school teacher with the Pennsbury School District for 43 years, retiring in 2013. Leslie was an educational leader; establishing committees at the Afton Elementary School in Yardley, PA where she primarily taught the 4th grade.

She was a member of the Michener and Mercer Museums of Doylestown; a former member, Sunday School Teacher, and Bible School Teacher for 13 years with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Doylestown; enjoyed crafts and making baskets that she sold; and was actively involved with local, high school sports, and sport banquets when her son’s were younger with the Pennridge High School District.

She was the beloved wife of 41 years to Joseph V. Hayes, devoted mother of Gregory and Douglas Hayes, dear sister of David Hadley and wife Marty, Jean Holtzworth and husband Bill, and the late Richard Hadley, loving aunt of Justin and Vanessa Hadley, Candace, Courtney and Joshua Holtzworth.

Cremation services will be private under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, Central Bucks Crematory, Inc., 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
