DOYLESTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA - Nancy Lee Grady (nee Rial) of Doylestown, PA passed away at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. She was 85.
Nancy’s greatest joy was to be surrounded by her family in times of celebration. She was also passionate about music, having played the piano since childhood. Watching her grandchildren play her grand piano gave her such pleasure. Another passion in Nancy’s life was her love and talent in art. Her skills in art found many forms including oil painting, sketching, handmade Christmas cards, and ceramics. Nancy was an avid sports fan. She attended all her children and grandchildrens’ sporting events throughout life. She will also be remembered for her kindness to animals. Nancy loved rescuing dogs who needed a good home.
Nancy received her X-ray technologist certification while living in Pittsburgh. She spent 25 years as an X-ray technician and became a department supervisor in later years. She also worked for WBUX radio station in sales and managed Wedding Concepts for Anne Bailey’s Bridal Salon. Nancy found her calling as she planned countless wedding arrangements for area brides.
She is survived by George Richard Grady, her beloved husband of 60 years. Also left to honor Nancy and remember her love are her son James Grady and his wife Thresa; daughter Mary Lee Harpel; son George and his wife Peggy; and grandchildren - Grady, Kara, Shane, Paul, Jenna and Marisa. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Mary Leona Rial of Moundsville, WV.
Relatives and friends are invited to join her funeral mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:00 am. The family will receive their friends from 10:00-11:00 am prior to mass at church.
Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940 at 1:00 pm.
